One idea, one record: the watchlist, journal, and trade log are a single connected loop, not three lists.
Journal & Trade Log — how they fit together
Most journaling tools make you write the same idea three times: once when you're watching it, once when you plan it, once when you take it. The app treats those as one idea moving through stages.
The three surfaces
| Surface | Answers | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|
| Watchlist | What am I watching, and at what levels? | This week |
| Journal | What's my plan today, and how did the day go? What do I believe this week? | Today / this week |
| Trade Log | What did I actually do, and how well? | Every trade, forever |
What connects them
An idea carries the same fields everywhere: ticker, direction, setups by timeframe, trigger, targets, invalidation, thesis, plan, notes, grade, and charts. Change one of those in one place and the others reflect it:
- Watchlist → Journal: "Push to Today's Plan" puts the idea in your Game Plan for the day.
- Watchlist → Trade Log: "Take This Trade" opens the trade form pre-filled with the idea's levels, notes, and charts.
- Trade Log → Watchlist: "Add to Watchlist" from a trade creates the watchlist card, already marked triggered.
- Journal ↔ Trade Log: the day's trades appear read-only in the journal's Execution stage; you never copy them.
The daily journal has three stages
- Game Plan — your pre-market read, bias, market context, and today's plan rows.
- Execution — the trades you logged today, pulled live from the Trade Log.
- Post-Trade Review — close the day honestly: what worked, what to carry forward, and Sage's read.
The weekly journal has a thesis
The daily journal answers what am I doing today. The Weekly Thesis answers what do I believe about the market this week, and why — set on the weekend, updated as the week develops, reviewed Friday to Sunday.
The trade log grades the process
Every closed trade gets an execution grade and a one-line "what happened," then the four process review questions. Setup grades, mistake tags, and hold-duration data feed Analytics and Sage.
Vocabulary you'll see everywhere: bullish / bearish, trigger, targets, invalidation, execution grade. We don't use ratio jargon — the process is graded, not the odds.
